Environmental Management Activity

Hazardous Substance Management

Koh Young Technology safely and effectively manages and monitors changes to dangerous and hazardous substances that are handled or generated during processes according to relevant international standards. We check suppliers’ EU RoHS 21) compliance in the part selection process and apply an internal Green & RoHS 2 policy to all our production processes. Additionally, we are taking significant precautions to form a safe and clean work environment, including conducting regular inspections on storage, shipping, and management of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). For all chemicals and hazardous substances “Material Safety Data Sheet” (MSDS) documents are maintained and controlled in a designated area.

Waste Emissions

Koh Young Technology’s 3D SPI and 3D AOI equipment accurately confirm measurement and detection of defects, early in the customers’ SMT process, thereby improving the PCB defect screening rate. This measurement-based inspection solution optimizes the use of raw materials and minimizes false errors, thereby playing a critical role in reducing the amount of waste and negative environmental impact.

Energy-Saving Activities

Koh Young Technology is actively working towards energy consumption by replacing existing overcapacity air compressors with lower capacity equipment and transitioning the lighting in company buildings to LED.

In 2021, a photovoltaic power generation facility was installed on the roof of the Gwanggyo R&D Center. Additionally, the company plans to further reduce GHG emissions by replacing internal combustion engine business vehicles with hybrid and electric vehicles.

Reduce the use of disposable items

Recognizing the negative environmental impact of disposable items, Koh Young Technology has been actively replacing all disposable products used internally with eco-friendly alternatives since 2020. The company also encourages the use of tumblers and promotes environmental improvement by encouraging voluntary donations to an environmental fund when disposable items are used.
